APPLE VARIETIES

PAULA RED

It has a sweet-tart flavor. They are good for eating and cooking with.  They soften quickly when cooked making them an excellent choice for sauces & butters

GALA

They have a mildly sweet flavor and crisp texture.  Most popular apple for snacking, they are also good for baking, juicing and freezing.

CORTLAND

 It has a sweet-tart flavor.  They are extremely slow to brown when it is cut, making it another great apple for recipes that call for fresh apples.

EMPIRE

Is a sweet apple with a crisp, crunchy taste, and a bright white flesh. You can roast, bake, or sauté or even dry an Empire Apple. 

AMBROSIA

Is sweet with low acidity and notes of honey.  Ambrosia apples are usually used in the preparation of cakes, muffins, pies, and tarts, but they're also often used raw

CRISPIN/MUTSU

It has a juicy, sweet, sharp-sweet taste. It is great for both eating and baking.

RED DELICIOUS

 It has a mildly sweet taste with flavors of melon.  These apples are suited for raw eating only and not recommended for baking. 

GRANNY SMITH

 It has a distinct sour, acidic, tart taste accompanied with a satisfying crisp-apple crunch. Makes perfect for eating right off the tree or for use in baking.

GINGER GOLD

It is a mildly sweet apple with a tart finish. Ginger Golds are a great eating apple and work well in pies and salads.

HONEYCRISP

It has a clean and clear sweet flavor.  It's mixture of sweet and tart make it an extremely  popular apple.  They have a longer shelf life. 

JONAGOLD

They have a sweet/tart flavor, they are delicious eaten fresh out of hand or made into applesauce, pies, or cobblers.
 

NORTHERN SPY

Is tarter than most popular varieties,  They are most  commonly used for desserts and pies, as well as juice and cider.

GOLDEN DELICIOUS

It is very sweet.  It is a favorite for salads, apple sauce, and apple butter.

GOLDEN RUSSET

It has an intensely sweet apple flavor, It is great for making juice and cider.

MCINTOSH

It has a sweet and tangy taste.  They are great displayed on cheese boards, tossed into salads, slaws, and fruit bowls.

FUJI

Are crisp and very juicy with a sugary-sweet flavor. It can be used in soups and roasts or baked into pies, cakes, tarts, crumbles, crisps, and muffins.
