Hand Thinning Season Has Begun

The orchard is keeping us busy as we've officially started hand thinning our fruit. This is one of the most important jobs of the growing season, even though it's one that often happens behind the scenes.
Hand thinning means carefully removing some of the young fruit from each tree. While it may seem unusual to take fruit off, this process allows the remaining apples to grow larger, develop better colour, and produce the high-quality fruit we're proud to harvest in the fall. It also helps protect the trees from carrying too much weight and encourages healthy growth for future seasons.
Over the next few weeks, our team will be working through the orchard one tree at a time, giving each tree the attention it needs. It's detailed work, but it's all part of growing the best fruit possible.
